Webfooter's Place 7th at D1 Show Ski Nationals

The Webfooter Water Ski Show Team of Fremont, Wis., tallied 1,525.16 total points, earning a 7th place finish Sunday at the 34th Indmar Marine Engines Division 1 Show Ski National Championships at Lake Wazeecha in Wisconsin Rapids, Wis. The tournament featured 14 teams and more than 1,500 athletes competing for the coveted show ski national title.

The Webfooters have been competing at the regional Division 1 level for the past 10 years, earning the opportunity to compete at the national level only four of the past 4 years. Since competing at the national level, the Webfooters have been ranked as one of the top ten show ski teams in the nation for last 4 years.

In competitive show skiing, each club has one hour to present a theatrical performance on water skis. Judges score the acts by awarding points based on execution, difficulty, spectator appeal and flow. Elaborate costumes and staging intermix with music and fast action on the water as an announcer leads the audience through the show.
The Show Ski National Championships also featured athletes competing individually in swivel, adagio doubles and team jumping.
Kristin Armstrong (Wisconsin Dells, Wis.) won the swivel competition, scoring 17.10 points. Kelly Nemec (Saint Paul, Minn.) finished second with 17.02 points and Ann Smyczek (East Tory, Wis.) placed third with 16.54 points.  Kim Loquidice and Jon DeBelak (Sussex, Wis.) won doubles with a score of 17.46 points. Marty Campbell and Megan Moriarty (Muskego, Wis.) placed second with 17.18 points and Lindsey and Gary Geer (Oconomowoc, Wis.) placed third with 17.16 points.  In team jumping, the Badgerland Water Ski Show Team (Waukesha, Wis.) won the title with 66.20 points. Little Crow placed second with 59.80 points.

Webfooter's Entertain Readfield School Summer Camp

On August 1st, 2008, the Webfooters Water Ski Show Team put on a spectacular performance for over 60 kids from Readfield Elementary School. On the shore of the Wolf River in Fremont was a gorgeous sunny day with calm water. It was a wonderful morning to perform a show.

The show featured the youth of the club using the Junior show theme plus a few, more difficult acts. The acts ranged from a four person ski line to an all girls 3 tier pyramid. Jumping, barefooting, swivel and doubles were also performed for the kid’s enjoyment. Through out the show, water safety was discussed and demonstrated by our skiing and driving techniques. One of the missions that the Webfooters have is to promote water safety while skiing and boating.

The event ended with many smiling faces from the Readfield kids and Webfooters. It was an enjoyable morning for all participants and a job well done.

Division 1 Nationals Running Order Relased

USA Waterski and the NSSA released the running order for teams participating in the 2008 National Water Ski Show Tournament. The Webfooters will be skiing first on Saturday morning at 7:30am.

Due to major flooding in the southern part of the state, the National Water Ski Show Tournament will be held on Lake Wazeecha in South Wood County Park on August 8 - 10. Fourteen teams from around the country are eligible to compete in the two-and-a-half day event that draws 8,000 to 10,000 spectators, competitors, vendors, officials and water-ski dignitaries each day.

Directions to Lake Wazeecha: Take Hwy 10 West to Hwy 54. Follow Hwy 54 to County Road U. Turn left on County U. Turn right on South Park Road, which goes right past South Wood County Park.

Webfooters Place 4th at Wisconsin Regional Show Ski Tournament

FREMONT, WI - Webfooter Water Shows, Inc. were awarded a 4th place trophy in Division 1 at the Wisconsin State Show Ski Tournament held July 17th - 20th in Wisconsin Rapids, WI. The Webfooters also received 3rd honors in Tow Boat driving and highest individual club act. They received 4th place honors in Showmanship, Sound, and Pyramids.

Placing 4th in this Division 1 Regional Tournament earns the Webfooters an opportunity to compete at the National Water Ski Show Tournament; August 8-10.

2008 Webfooter Teach-a-Kid-to-Ski Program

Fremont, WI - Webfooter Water Shows, Inc announced the 2008 schedule for its Teach-a-Kid-to Ski program. Each year the team takes time to host this program which is available to anyone that would like to learn how to water ski. The team has had kids as young as 4 years old and as old as 70 years old participate in this event.

The Webfooter’s will host two Teach-a-Kid-to-Ski events this year. The first will be held on Sunday, June 8, 2008 from 11:00am to 3:00pm and the second will be held on Saturday July 12, 2008 from 10:00am to 2:00pm. Both events will be hosted at Plank Stadium (the Webfooter Show Site) located in downtown Fremont, WI. Directions can be found at www.webfooters.org/webfooters/directions.html.

Webfooters Kick off 2008 Raffle

FREMONT, WI - Webfooter Water Shows, Inc. announced today the start of their 2008 raffle. The team has The team has done a great job working with several of its’ major sponsors to offer a fantastic list of prizes again this year. The grand prize drawing will be held after the teams final show of the year on Sunday, August 24, 2008.

In addition to the grand prize drawing in August, several sponsors are also offing prizes to be given away in special drawings that will begin after the show on Sunday, Jun 15, 2008 and an new winner will be drawn on the following 10 Sundays. Anyone purchasing a ticket prior to the Sunday drawing will be eligible for that weeks drawing. Ticket holders do not have to be present at the drawings to win.

Program Book/Calendar Sponsors

We are getting ready for our 2008 season and would like to take a moment to thank all of our past sponsors again for their support of the Webfooters. Through their support in 2007, the Webfooters were able to have another very successful season. For the third year in a row, the Webfooters placed third at the Wisconsin State competition in July and qualified to again participate in the National Show Ski tournament in Loves Park, IL, and continue to be ranked as one of the top ten water ski show teams in the nation.

Each year we review our sponsorship, marketing programs, programs that other teams are doing and general feedback to improve our programs and visibility for both our club and our sponsors. For 2008, we have chosen to replace the program book format from the last few years with a new calendar format. The calendar will be a 12-month calendar running June 2008 to May 2009 and will offer many new sponsorship opportunities. As always, the new program book calendars will be given away free of charge at Webfooters shows and will be available for the show in June.

With the new calendar format, we are also simplifying the advertising options. The entire calendar will be in color, and therefore all ads will be able to contain color. This year there will only be 2 types of ad sizes, Basic/standard or Calendar/Logo. The specifications for these ads are located on the specification sheet above.

The basic/standard ad will be placed on the top half of the calendar page and beneath the calendar. Multiple ads can be purchased to create a larger ad space or placed back to back to create coupon offerings. Further, we are offering the ability to request specific months for the ad to be placed on. Each basic/standard ad space is $75, when you purchase quantities of 4 or more, we will discount the cost by 10%.

The calendar/logo ad can be placed on any requested date or in the blank spaces on the calendar page for a cost of $25 each. These are great for happy birthday wishes, special business sales, promotions, or reminders of other important events. We will do our best to accommodate all of the specific date requests, however conflicts may occur. In these situations the Webfooters will have the final decision in the resolution of those conflicts.

Think Tank Set For Feb. 29-March 2

The Wisconsin Water Ski Federation's 32nd annual Think Tank, the world's largest indoor water ski convention and exposition, will take place Feb. 29-March 2 at Chula Vista resort and indoor water park, in Wisconsin Dells, Wis. Think Tank is the water sports industry's leading educational experience, providing training and clinics for nearly all USA Water Ski sport disciplines. The latest in water sports equipment, boats and swimwear also are on display.

Kneeboard and wakeboarding tanks have been added to the program this year. In addition, the annual MasterCraft Indoor Adagio Doubles Competition will take place along with the wakeboarding (trampoline) contest. Register by e-mailing Cathy Luiting at wedodbls@jvl.net.
